Living room

Located just a block from the Jardin in the heart of Centro San Miguel on Recreo street, this careful restoration dates back to 1671 when it housed stables for "Dragones de la Reina" a regiment led by the Spanish officer who lived there.

The mission of the owner was to create something unduplicatable in charm and romance and every detail reflects the highest standard of modern comforts inside old San Miguel.

When you step off the street into its long bougainvillea lined stone passageway, you'll be transported into a serene island of paradise where all your cares and concerns will melt away.

The home features 4 bedrooms. The two master suites have king beds with attached baths and the other two bedrooms have queen beds, also with private baths. There is a loft above the downstairs queen with a daybed for an afternoon nap or a hideaway any youngster would find fun. The linens and appointments of the bedrooms are second to none as are the bathroom features and fluffy towels. The decor of the bedrooms and baths reflects the "old world" with toilets even tucked away in beautiful "water closets."

Sitting Area

The striking roof terrace puts you literally "on top" of the many church steeples and historic buildings of Centro San Miguel. This bird's eye view is just magnificent at sunset while enjoying a drink watching the changing sky to the west.

The living room and dining room, with seating for eight persons, combine for coziness. These beautifully appointed rooms, in what were formerly the stable stalls, open out to a courtyard with a "crying wall" fountain for relaxing meals and visits with friends indoor by the fireplace or out.

Given San Miguel's spectacular year-round weather, there's a cozy outdoor sala with seating for eight around a unique copper table. The courtyard has been restored with 500-year-old cantera stone from some of Mexico's historic sites. You can almost hear the hoof beats of the ancient horsemen's steeds.

A cook and chambermaid serve your every need for the most enjoyable stay possible with a variety of menu choices for all meals as well as laundry and drying facilities on the premises.

The home features satellite TV service from the USA as well as Vonage long distance service for free unlimited calls to your friends in the States and Canada.

There isn't anything like Caballerizas Dragones. We predict your visit will be truly unforgettable and you'll come back again and again.
